AVI is one of the oldest video container formats, still common in archival footage, older camcorder exports, and legacy software output. SnailText extracts the audio, transcribes the speech with the Whisper model, and writes a phrase-level SRT, all on your machine.

What is the difference between AVI to SRT and AVI to text?
AVI to SRT produces a timed subtitle file (.srt) with start and end times per phrase. AVI to text produces a plain transcript with no timestamps. SnailText does both, you just pick the output before the run.
Does SnailText burn the subtitles into the video when I use AVI to SRT?
